eBay.com fee rates · Checked September 2026
eBay fees for books, movies & music.
eBay charges 15.3% of the order total for books, DVDs & CDs, with or without an eBay Store, plus $0.40 per order ($0.30 for orders of $10 or less).
- No Store
- 15.3%
- With a Store
- 15.3%
- Per-order fee
- $0.30–0.40
Example: a $15.00 sale
The buyer pays $15.00 for the item and $5.00 for shipping, so eBay charges its fee on $20.00. With no sales tax and no promoted listing:
| No Store | With a Store | |
|---|---|---|
| Final value fee | $3.06 | $3.06 |
| Per-order fee | $0.40 | $0.40 |
| Total eBay fees | $3.46 | $3.46 |
| You receive | $16.54 | $16.54 |
Your shipping label and what you paid for the item still come out of that payout.
What to know about this category
Books, DVDs, Blu-rays, and CDs carry a higher percentage than most categories, and the rate does not drop with an eBay Store. With low sale prices, the per-order fee takes a noticeable share, so bundle lots where you can.
